For our team at Terra Mia, there’s nothing better than doing a final walk-through of a finished renovation project with the homeowners. And we’re particularly proud of this full home renovation project we worked on with a client here in Las Vegas.
Take a look to see if it inspires you to take on a home renovation of your own!
Here in Las Vegas, many of our clients want to make the most of their outdoor space. After all, it can be so soothing to have a morning coffee on the back patio or enjoy an afternoon get together with friends when the weather’s nice. But because of our harsh conditions, that means that we have to use some creative design tricks to help make patios more comfortable and inviting.
One way to make an outdoor patio here a more liveable space is with the right flooring. Here, we’ve chosen light gray natural stone tiles that are great temperature regulators. This material absorbs and releases UV rays slowly. That means that they stay cool during the day and don’t get too cold during the night.
You’ll also notice that we opted for gray pillars, a dark overhead ceiling fan, and dark furniture for this client’s patio. That’s because colors that are too light tend to create glare that can make sitting outside unpleasant. Instead, we’ve lightened up the space with vibrant plants and planting pots that balance out the darker elements and add personality to the space.
Another part of this home that got a big makeover was the bathroom. Our clients wanted a sleek, spa-like standing shower with plenty of natural light to take advantage of that Las Vegas sunshine. But, of course, they also wanted privacy. With frosted glass, we could ensure that large windows keep the space bright without having to deal with blinds or curtains.
The shower features a luxurious waterfall shower head with a separate handheld nozzle. We opted for modern, dark-toned hardware to give the bathroom a sense of elegance.
For materials, we installed gorgeous large natural stone tiles for the walls, with a contrast of small pebble tile work for the flooring of the shower and nook.
The kitchen is one of our favorite parts of this Las Vegas renovation. In this part of the house, we wanted to give our clients an open layout that would encourage connection and keep the entire area bright and spacious.
The large island and bar in the middle of the kitchen offers enough counter space for prepping, cooking, and entertaining. The main focal point of the island is the large, stainless-steel farmhouse sink with modern hardware. There’s also plenty of storage space in the cabinets below as well as a full-sized dishwasher.
There are other elements that make this kitchen renovation ideal for cooking enthusiasts. A double stacked oven mounted at eye level is perfect for cooking for large groups as well as everyday use. And the modern gas stovetop range with griddle and top-of-the-line mounted kitchen hood give this kitchen a professional look.
Another feature we love about this kitchen are the countertops. The white marble is classy and elegant and offers a stunning contrast with the darker cabinets to lighten up the entire space. Speaking of the cabinets, we wanted to offer our clients as much storage space as possible. And, with a few windowed options, we were able to create a sense of openness to counterbalance the dark wood stain. Finally, we pulled the look together with silver hardware on the cabinets that align perfectly with the stainless steel appliances throughout the kitchen.
Here in Las Vegas, flooring is a big deal! Our clients want something that will hold up well to the dry, desert conditions and not look like a dusty mess every time the wind picks up. Flooring that has natural temperature regulation qualities is also a plus in this part of the country!
For this home, we installed a gorgeous gray engineered wood flooring throughout the living room, kitchen, bedrooms, hallways and laundry room. This durable material is easy to clean and maintain, and the color brightens up the entire house while cutting down on glare. As an engineered wood option, we were able to stay within budget, and offer our clients a long-lasting, beautiful flooring.
